The Roxbury Land Trust is hosting an informative and fun Moth walk led by lifelong Naturalist Larry Fischer on June 19th from 8:30pm -10:30 pm at Good Hill Farm Preserve located on the Roxbury-Woodbury border. Participants will meet at the preserve’s parking lot, a half mile east of Tophet Road on Route 317.
When flowering plants evolved 130 million years ago, moths were the original pollinators. Today they continue to be important pollinators for flowers and forest trees. Join Larry Fischer as he attracts moths with lights and bait, identifies them and talks about their natural history.
Larry lectures all over the Northeast and has been a guest lecturer at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Join us and learn more about moths and their habitat.
All are welcome on the walk and are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp, a folding chair is optional. Please be sure to register online, email [email protected] or call (860) 350-4148.
