The Roxbury Land Trust is pleased to announce a guided bird walk led by Hannah Pryor, to be held on Friday, July 17 at 8:00 am at the Good Hill Farm Preserve in Roxbury.
Participants in the bird walk will have the opportunity to explore the habitats of the nature preserve while observing and identifying the bird species that call Roxbury Land Trust properties home.
Hannah Pryor is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Paul Smith’s College in New York, where her research focuses on migrating songbirds. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from Paul Smith’s College in May 2025. Over the past several years, Pryor has developed a strong passion for birding and a deep appreciation for the diverse bird species that share our environment.
Her field experience includes working with a wide range of species, including saw-whet owls, purple martins, waterfowl, and other migratory and resident birds. Through her academic work and hands-on research, Pryor brings both scientific knowledge and enthusiasm to her programs. She looks forward to sharing her expertise and helping attendees on the bird walk deepen their understanding of local birdlife.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared for an outdoor hike. Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and insect repellent are recommended. Bringing binoculars is strongly encouraged to enhance the birdwatching experience.
This event offers a unique opportunity for community members of all experience levels to connect with nature, learn about local wildlife, and engage with ongoing conservation efforts in Roxbury.
